For the TOV Diamond Collection, we start by finding the right source. For this we have an in-depth framework of ethical outlines and a zero-tolerance policy. Conflict diamonds can never truly shine. We ban them.
At the source, the selection starts. We cherry pick the stones. We select them based on weight (carat), colour and clarity. Only few make the cut. Literally. The chosen ones get a cut. The cut is the only part of the value determination that is added by humans. So: in the cut shows the master. Masters we are. Now, your rock is ready to find her jewel.
Real recognises real. Like us, no two diamonds are alike. Every diamond has a unique set of characteristics. It is expressed in the 4 Cs: colour, clarity, cut and carat. The 4 Cs are the global standard for assessing the quality and value of diamonds. So: we carefully balance the Cs to perfection.
More than anything, a diamond’s cut determines its beauty. We shape all TOV diamonds in the so-called brilliant cut. The brilliant cut is the most popular facet arrangement in the game, it gives your rock its intense sparkle. A brilliant cut maximises light reflection and glare. And yes: at TOV we love maximization.
Diamonds come in various shades. At TOV, we only work with the F-G colour. F-G is diamond-language for “near colourless” or “it matches all your outfits.” F-G refers to the colour gradation on the official scale of the Gemological Institute of America. This scale ranges from D (colourless) to Z (yellowish). The F-G colour is usually not visible to the naked eye. Everyone in our atelier considers this shade the empress of diamonds, we find its beauty irreplaceable.
The entire TOV Essential Diamonds Collection comes in a one clarity: SI clarity. SI stands for slightly included. It indicates the purity of the diamond and refers to the presence of inclusions. SI means that the diamond has only tiny inclusions that are usually only visible with a magnifying glass. All you see is pure beauty.
The carat of our diamonds differs to fit the design and the price. So: per TOV design we decide what diamond is most suited for the job. Please check the description of your diamond jewellery of choice to find the carat. Good to know: the carat describes your baby’s weight. One carat is 200 milligrams. A carat is divided into 100 points. So, for example: a 0.50-carat diamond is referred to as a half-carat diamond, it is 50 points. Whatever carat you chose, flaunt it to the max.
